Voice Dialogue and Parts work

Voice dialogue is a powerful transformational technique, which expands self awareness and allows us more choice and balance within ourselves and in life.

The benefits for practitioners and their clients are better relationships, increased self-acceptance and self-esteem, a way to access your talents, abilities, full potential and essential nature.

Developed by Drs Hal and Sidra Stone it has roots in Jungian psychology. The Stone's discovered, as has long been observed in hypnotherapy that our personalities are made up of many different subpersonalities, or selves experiencing different needs, opinions, and perceptions about the world. It is also possible to dialogue with these selves and to reach a level of awareness where we no longer wholly identify with one part. Rather we develop an 'aware ego' or what in the spiritual tradition is known as ‘witness consciousness.’ In this sense Voice dialogue is a fast track to self mastery in this lifetime.

In hypnotherapy very often we will wish to communicate with the unconscious mind. Again this can be represented by different parts. In parts work which, differs from Voice Dialogue in its integrative goal we aim to communicate, negotiate, integrate and resolve conflicting unconscious desires for the greater good and integrity of the whole person. We learn and practise both approaches.
